Selection of a promotional display will rely quite heavily on the environment that it will be installed.
For example, the entrance to a large venue that has a limited entry way would be a good place for a banner. This could go overhead of the entry point, drawing much attention for the people as they pass below.
Similarly, the more standard trade show display (complete with multiple standard and pictures displayed vertically) work best if your message is confined to a booth or limited floor space trade show.
Your product should also be clearly present at the display. Depending on the durable nature of the product, actual examples of it should be available for passerbys to pick up, touch, look, and smell if applicable.
Business cards should be placed for easy pick up by people at the show. A few bowls of hard candy (or better, chocolates!) also draw people to your display.
I have even seen a portable putting green placed at a trade show display for people to try their skill at sinking a putt. If they are successful, they get a koozie, sticker, magnet, or something with your company’s name and logo on it.
Go to a few trade shows and you’ll see what display methods work the best. What catches your eye when there? You’re no different from most everyone else.
Hope this helps. Wish you the best!
What are you selling?
If you’re selling financial advice, none of those things will work very well.
If you’re selling a better mousetrap, all of them might work.
How you advertise and promote your business depends entirely on your product. You need to ask again and be more specific.
Good luck.
